Established a stronger digital presence for one of the world’s fastest-growing EV brands, helping BYD build awareness, trust and customer confidence as it entered the Australian market.
Context
Despite its global scale, BYD was a relatively unknown brand in Australia in 2022. As the company rapidly expanded its local dealership network through its distributor EV Direct, digital became a critical touchpoint for building brand awareness and supporting the EV customer journey.
However, the local BYD Australia website struggled for visibility, with both the global BYD site and reseller platforms outranking it in search results. At the same time, gaps in online customer information were driving high volumes of support enquiries, placing pressure on customer care teams.
Direction
We partnered with BYD to elevate its Australian digital presence and better support customers across the ownership journey. The strategy focused on strengthening search visibility, clarifying the brand’s positioning in the local market and improving the accessibility of information for new EV owners.
By optimising the content architecture and user experience, the platform was designed to better support dealership discovery, online purchase pathways and customer self-service.
Outcome
The new digital experience strengthened BYD’s visibility and credibility in the Australian market while improving access to key information for both prospective buyers and existing owners — reducing reliance on customer support channels and helping establish the brand as a serious contender in Australia’s rapidly growing EV market.
